Zeddie Ray Dyess

Funeral services for Ray and Mary Dyess will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Marthaville First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Penfield and Kenny Dyess officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 5:00 PM at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, Many, LA. Zeddie Ray Dyess, born January 28, 1935 in Marthaville, Louisiana, departed this life on May 15, 2023 at his home in Marthaville, Louisiana. Mary Wayne Dyess, born February 20, 1942 in Logansport, Louisiana, passed from this life on May 22, 2023 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mary is preceded in death by a span of one week by her husband of almost 67 years and the father of their children, Zeddie Ray Dyess. She is also preceded in death by her father, George May and mother, Della Claybrook May; brothers: Jimmy Earl May, Benny Darwin May, Arlis Ray May; sisters: Danna Lee Bridges, Charlcye May Fennen, Tommie Dean Moore, Bobbie Jean Harper and half-sister, Dowell Parker. Ray is preceded in death by his father, Henry Zeddie Dyess, and his mother, Gladys Mae Dyess. They leave behind their children, Kenny Ray Dyess and wife Sandra Lynn Dyess, of Many, LA and Cynthia Ann Speight and husband James Darrel Speight of Marthaville, LA.; their grandchildren, Bradley Wayne Dyess and wife Katie, Zadok Nathaniel Dyess and wife Kate', Joshua Paul Dyess, Sarah Elisabeth Dyess, Lydia Speight Tamaccio and husband Christopher, and great grandchildren, Elisa Ann and Gladys Mae Dyess. Ray is also survived by his brother, Hoyt Dyess and wife Bonnie, of Many, LA. They are also survived and will be remembered by a host of family and friends. Pallbearers for Mr. Ray and Mrs. Mary will be: Bradley Dyess, Zadok Dyess, Joshua Dyess, Darrin Dyess, Darrel Speight and Tre' Dyess. Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmie Gates and Hoyt Dyess. Service attendees traveling from the east be advised that Hwy 120 from Robeline to Marthaville is under construction and there may be delays. An alternate route is I-49 north from Natchitoches to the Ajax, Lake End exit and take Hwy 487 from Ajax to Marthaville.
