About Zed Carter
MR. ZEB VANCE CARTER Mr. Zeb V. Carter, age 92, a resident of Richlands, died late Wednesday evening in a Marion, Va. hospital follow- ing a lingering illness. Mr. Carter was born at Mount Cross, Va., a son of the late Willis and Molly Lanaier Carter, both natives of Mount Cross. He was educated in the public schools of Mount Cross and attended the Old Richlands College, having graduated from the Lynchburg Business College at Lynchburg, Va. Mr. Carter had been a pro- minent farmer in Richlands for the past 60 years. He is survived by his wife, Lena Brown Carter; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Margaret Preston of Bristol, Va.; and two sons, Allen Brown Carter of Rich- lands and Guy Page Carter of Greensboro, N. C. Funeral services were con- ducted Friday afternoon in the Chapel of the Farmer Funeral Home with the Rev. D. W. Wasson officiating. Interment was in the Hankins Cemetery in Rich- lands. The body remained at the Funeral Home until the hour of the service. Pallbearers were: H. V. Lindsey, Eldridge Brown, Roland Tackett, Grady Dalton, Cecil Vermilya, Pat Sharron, C. A.
