About Zachary Maslanich
Maslanich, Zachary A. 26 years old, of Antioch, IL passed away Friday, November 30, 2012. He was born December 18, 1985 in Highland Park, IL, the son of Philip Maslanich and Karen (Simon Maslanich) Zimmerman. Zack had lived in Park City, IL and Lindenhurst, IL before settling in Antioch in 2002. In high school, Zack spent a year as a foreign exchange student in Germany. Had a great appreciation for the German culture, loved reading, and was studying to become a high school history teacher. Survivors include: his mother, Karen Zimmerman of Antioch, IL; his maternal grandmother, Mildred Simon of Bellevue, WA; his brother, Nathan John Maslanich of Antioch, IL; and many aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Philip; and grandparents, Andrew Simon, Mary Maslanich, and John Maslanich. Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL 60002 with visitation beginning at 4 p.m. Interment of ashes will be 2 p.m. Friday in Hillside Cemetery, Antioch, IL. Those desiring may make donations to the Antioch Public Library in his memory. Published in News Sun from Dec. 3 to Dec. 9, 2012
