From page A5 of the Monday, May 10, 2004 Beatrice (NE) Daily Sun: Zachary M. Frase, 22 years of age, of Beatrice, Nebraska died of a self-inflicted gun shot wound on Saturday, May 8, 2004. He was born on December 20, 1981 in Beatrice, Nebraska and graduated from Beatrice High School in 2000. He served in the U.S. Army from February until June of 2002 and was stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. At the time of his death he was working for his father at "Frase Construction". He was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Beatrice. Nebraska. He enjoyed carpentry work, camping, fishing, hunting, trucks, cooking, racing cruisers, riding his ATV, being with his friends and spending time with his special friend Tara Heidbrink. Survivors include his parents, Michael and Teresa Olberding Frase and one sister, Holly Frase all of Beatrice, Nebraska. Grandfather, Gerald Olberding of Fairbury Nebraska and grandmother Janice Olberding of Fairbury, Nebraska. Grandmother, Phyllis (Joan) Frase of Beatrice, Nebraska. Great-grandparents, Harry and Alverna Kunc of Burchard, Nebraska, Helen Olberding of Seneca, Kansas and Edith Hefner of Denver, Colorado. Aunts, Lori and Jeff Sweetser and their children Samantha and Travis of Jansen, Nebraska, Christy Olberding and fiancé Roger Brown of Fairbury, Nebraska, Leann and Terry Blas and their children Brittney and Harlie of Fairbury, Nebraska, Patricia and Eric Bartels, and their daughter Paige of Jansen, Nebraska, Pat and Kent Lane and their children Jason, Jamie and Andy of Beatrice, Nebraska and Kay and Layne Korbel and their daughter Anna of Wilber, Nebraska. Uncle, Jeramy and Danielle Olberding of Beatrice, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Donald Frase and great-grandfather Raymond Olberding. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Mark Seiker celebrant. Burial will be in the Blue Springs Cemetery of Blue Springs, Nebraska. A scriptural-rosary service will be held Tuesday evening May 11, 2004 at 7:30 P.M. at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice. A memorial has been established to the family's choice with the Fox Funeral Home in charge. Closed casket visitation will be held at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday.
