About Yolanda Blake
Viola Mary Blake, age 87, formerly of Seneca Street, Corning, died Sunday, October 22, 2000, at Three Rivers Health Care Center, Painted Post, NY where she had resided for the past seven months. Mrs. Blake was born in Galeton, PA, March 3, 1913, the daughter of Vincenzo and Mary (Pagano) Capo. She married Herman A "Shine" Blake at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Corning, June 29, 1935. Viola was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Herman A. "Shine" Blake, of Green Meadows at Painted Post; one daughter, Teresa A (Joseph N) Ruocco of Corning; one son, Ken (Linda) Blake of Longwood, FL; two sisters, Kessie Stamilio and Dorothy Ferreira of Corning; four grandchildren, Tony and Nicky Ruocco and Jennifer and Christopher Blake; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Tuesday from 7-9pm at the Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W Pulteney St., Corning. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am, Wednesday, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 222 Dodge Ave, Corning, NY. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Corning.
