About Yaagov Mazur
Dr. Jacob Mazur died at Southern NH Center of natural causes, on Thursday, November 18, 2010. Dr. Mazur was born on December 5, 1921 in Lodz, Poland and emigrated, just in time before World War II, to Israel. He earned his PHD in Physics at The Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He did his post-doctorate work at Cal-Tech, under the tutelage of the great Linus Pauling. He met his wife of 60 years, Adeline (Garfield) Mazur while doing research at the University of Chicago. Dr. Mazur became an esteemed Physicist and worked for many years at The National Institute of Science and Technology in Darnestown, Maryland. He has extended family in Israel which he frequently visited and often felt this to be his home. Dr. Jacob Mazur is a member of Temple Beth Abraham.
