William Murray Pittman

William "Bill" Murray Pittman, age 96, of Paragould, passed from the cares of this life on February 7, 2023, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Bill was born on January 28, 1927, to the late Zula May (Davidson) Pittman and James Pittman in Leachville, Arkansas. Bill worked in auto repair for many years. After he retired, he worked out of his home doing auto body work. He was well known for his excellent quality of work. Bill was one of the first "coffee shop coaches". He and a group of his friends would meet at Tony's restaurant in Paragould, share stories about sports, discuss the latest games, and have coffee every evening at 8 P.M. sharp. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Anthony Wayne "Tony" Pittman; his brothers, James Pittman, Lloyd Pittman, Larry Pittman, Billy Pittman, and Bobby Pittman Bill leaves behind his loving wife of 74 years, Mollie Lillian (Lackey) Pittman of the home; his children, Carletta Joyce (Pittman-Wright) Clark of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Donna Pittman of Paragould, and William Paul Pittman of Jonesboro, Arkansas; sisters, Shirley McMurray and Joyce Owens; brother, Alvin "Curly" Pittman; grandchildren, Michael Wright of Hot Springs, Amy (Wright) Dalyrmple of Prescott, Arkansas, Andrew Pittman of Suffolk, Virginia, Abigail Pittman, and Evan Pittman both of Jonesboro; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held 12:00 P.M., Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Mitchell Funeral Home with Dr. Don Martin officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until time of the service. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Bill's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
