About William Maahs
Journal Star (Peoria, IL)) - May 30, 1995 PEORIA -- William R. Maahs, 62, of 2111 W. Malone St. died at 3:54 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 1995, in the Methodist Medical Center emergency room. He was born Sept. 26, 1932, in Peoria to Erich and Emily Schultz Maahs. Surviving are his mother of Peoria; and two sisters, Marian Maahs of Peoria and Eleanor Smith of W. St. Paul, Minn. He worked for Jefferson Auto Electric for 44 years, retiring in 1994. He was a Korean War Army veteran. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Woodcarvers Club of Peoria. He also was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria, where memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Arthur I. Schudde will officiate. The family will meet friends 30 minutes before services at the church. Cremation has been accorded and burial of ashes will be in Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Davison-Fulton Western Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
