About William Earley
It is not known why William Earley spelled his last name differently than his parents and his siblings. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Earley Succumbs Saturday William Martin Earley, 96, a retired farmer and miner of Franklin, Route 2, died Saturday, November 6, at 10:30 a.m., at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Marvin Vanhook, on Route 2. He had been in declining health for a year. Funeral services for Mr. Earley, a native of Tennessee, were conducted the 8th at 3 p.m. at the Sugarfork Baptist Church by the Rev. J.S. Cunningham, pastor, and the Rev. Fred Sorrells. Burial was in the church cemetery with J.D., Doyle, and Jerry Neal Earley, Jack Arnold, and Roy and Larry Brooks serving as pallbearers. Born Sept. 10, 1870, he was the son of the late John and Mrs. Mary McCoy Earley. He was married February 1893 to Miss Mary Jane Holland, of this county, who died June 6, 1951. Surviving, in addition to his daughter, Mrs. Vanhook, are five more daughters, Mrs. Cora Russell of Talmadge, Ohio, Miss Bessie Earley of Route 2, Mrs. Claude Arnold and Mrs. Grover Angel both of Franklin, Route 5, and Mrs. Sam Brooks of Franklin; two sons, John L. and Fred L. Earley, both of Route 5; 30 grandchildren; and 53 great-grandchildren. Arrangements were handled by Bryant Funeral Home. The Franklin Press , November 11, 1965 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ William told family members that infant daughters Laura Earley and Mattie Earley were both buried at Sugarfork Cemetery. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
