About William Bolton

Obituary: William R. "Bill" Bolton was born on February 15th, 1942, in Gooding, Idaho, the oldest son of William L. Bolton and Anna Junkert Bolton. He graduated from Gooding High School in 1961 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1965, where he worked in Naval Aviation Electronics and served honorably in the Philippines during the Vietnam War. He was awarded medals for Good Conduct (4 years), National Defense and Vietnam Service, and a Navy "E" (Battle Efficiency) Ribbon. Bill Married LInda Dunham of Gooding on August 18th, 1968. They lived in Pocatello while he studied electronics at Idaho State University. He worked as a television repairman for M & Y Electric in Twin Falls from 1969 until about 1979. He then worked as an electronics technician at Auto Phone for about a year, and in 1980, he began working for Tel-Car. In 1999 he was hired by the Idaho State Communications Department where he continued until his retirement in 2016. Bill accepted Christ as his Savior in 1963 and served for many years as a deacon and head usher at Grace Baptist Church in Twin Falls. He also volunteered as an AWANA leader and Sunday School Superintendent, and he sang in the church choir. Bill enjoyed collecting unique rocks, tending to Iris flowers in his yard, and working with his hands. He also enjoyed photography and visiting scenic locations in Idaho. He had a deep interest in personal study of the Bible and like to talk to others about the things that he learned. On Thursday, February 23td, Bill was carried away to Glory to be with his Lord and Savior. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna, and by his brother Robert L. Bolton of Gooding. He is survived by his wife Linda; four sons, Todd (Karen), Brad, Mike (Alice), and Brian (Jennaca); brothers Jon Bolton and Larry Bolton of Gooding; ten grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Friday, March 3rd, from 6 to 8 in the evening at Rosenau Funeral Home in Twin Falls. The funeral will be held at Grace Baptist Church in Twin Falls on Saturday, March 4th at 11:00 a.m. Bill will be interred with military honors at the Snake River Canyon National Cemetery in Buhl, Idaho on Monday, March 6th. His family would like to thank the inpatient nursing staff and home health staff at St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center and Rosenau Funeral Home for their compassionate care. Contributions may be made to the Bill Bolton Scholarship Fund at Twin Falls Christian Academy.
