William Joe Aldridge

William "Bill" Joe Aldridge, age 70, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, drew his last breath here on earth on Thursday, October 14, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones at his home. Bill was born in Sullivan County, Tennessee on January 4, 1952, and was the son of the late Mack Aldridge and Mamie Presswood Aldridge. Bill had worked as a construction worker running heavy equipment and driving a tractor and trailer. He loved to be in the forest, camping, hunting, fishing, and enjoying spending time with those he loved. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Bill was a lifelong resident of the area and will truly be missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Jean Deel and brothers, Parker Aldridge, Larry Aldridge, Gary Aldridge, Mike Aldridge, and Jerry Aldridge. Those that remain to carry on his loving spirit are his: Soulmate and the love of his life his and July 10, 1945 wife for 50 years, Aleta Jo Aldridge of Cedar Bluff, VA Daughter, Cynthia Jo Keen and husband, Marvin of Connelly Springs, NC Son. William Charles Aldridge of Cedar Bluff, VA Best Friends, Jim Brown, and Mike "Doc" Tickle Sisters: Reba Page of Valdese, NC Sandy Brown and husband, Jim of Cedar Bluff, VA Brother, Donald Aldridge and wife, Hazel of French Village, Missouri Grandchildren, Cody Keen, Kayla Curtis, Brett Aldridge, Alyssa Aldridge, Jared Aldridge Great-grandchildren, Aria Keen, William Keen and Katie Curtis. The funeral service for Bill Aldridge will be conducted at 2:00pm on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with the Rev. Roger Lester officiating. Interment will follow at the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. A visitation will be held on Monday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
