Wayland G. Clanton (05 September 1933 - 08 June 2016) *** Wayland G. Clanton Wayland G. Clanton, age 82, of Golden, Missouri, passed away in his home on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Mr. Clanton, son of Clyde and Eula (Ford) Clanton was born on September 5, 1933, in Big Spring, Texas. On May 24, 1980, he was united in marriage to Patricia Stellhorn in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Mr. Clanton was an over the road owner operator driver and was leased to Clanton Trucking in Golden. He enjoyed traveling with his R.V., being with his grandchildren, and loved his dogs. He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife of thirty-six years, Patricia Clanton, of Golden; three sons, Jerry Clanton and his wife Reenie, and Craig Clanton and his wife Marcia, all of Liberal, Kansas, and Garry Clanton, of Lakewood, Colorado; three daughters, Karen Valles and her husband Ruma, of Liberal, Kansas, Kayla Hall and her husband Jeff, of Owasso, Oklahoma; the mother of his five children, Marie Wiles; one step-daughter, Annie Neal, of Berryville, Arkansas; nineteen grandchildren, including two who he helped raise, Heather Wilson and Chet Cavins; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Wanda Gortney, of Marble Falls, Texas; one brother, Danny Clanton and his wife Sue, of Golden; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of trucking buddies. In addition to his parents, he was preceded three brothers, William Clanton, Merle Clanton, and R.B. Clanton, and four sisters, Delora Scarbough, Alveta Szitar, Clydean Eshols, and Wilma Jean Alley. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepard Hospice and entrusted to the White Funeral Home and Crematory, P.O. Box 890, Cassville, MO 65625. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2016, at the White Funeral Home and Crematory, with Pastor Billy Williams officiating; burial to follow at Viney Creek Cemetery in Golden. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11th, at the funeral home.
