About Walter Zahringer
Walter W. Zahringer, Menasha, age 81, died unexpectedly Dec. 25, 1992. He was born June 4, 1911 in the town of Harrison, the son of the late Nicholas and Amelia (Puetz) Zahringer. He attended Sacred Heart School in Sherwood. He was married to Catherine Camp0bell on Sept, 3, 1945 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Stockbridge. The couple farmed in the town of Harrison for 47 years. Mr. Zahringer retired in 1984. He was still helping in the operation of the farm until the time of his recent illness. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood. He enjoyed sports, especially listening to the Packers and Brewers. He also enjoyed his family and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Catherine; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Mrs. Gary (Eileen) Bernemann and Mrs. Nick (Carol) Halbach of St. John and Mrs. John (Kathleen) Pitzen and Betty Zahringer of Sherwood; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Eugene Zahringer of Menasha, Thomas and Sharon Zahringer of Hilbert and Joseph and Dawn Zahringer of Sherwood; 13 grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ann Zahringer of Sherwood, Mrs. Anita Hemauer of West Bend, Mrs. Art (Alvina) Campbell of Hilbert and Mrs. Art (Rose) Hemauer of Stockbridge; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Clarence and Margaret Zahringer, Roman Zahringer and Irvin Zahringer all of Sherwood and a sister-in-law, Mabel Zahringer of Sherwood. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Robert and a brother, Leo. Funeral services were at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood the Rev. Kenneth Frozena officiating.
