About W T Savage
W.T. Eugene "Bill" Savage, 95, of Rives died June 3, 2009, at Golden Living Center in Union City. Services will be 11 am Friday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mickey Hanks officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 pm Thursday. Pallbearers will be Timothy Savage, Don Savage II, Joseph Savage, Jerold Wilson, Justin Wilson, and Charles Porch. He was born Oct. 12, 1913, in Lawrenceburg, son of the late Ollie Hardin Savage and the late Susie (Fair) Savage Canaday. He married the former Mary Ables Nov. 30, 1934. She died April 6, 1987. He had been a section foreman for GM&O Railroad and had been a groundskeeper at Poplar Meadows Country Club near Union City. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church No. 2 near Rives and of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees. He is also survived by his daughter, Laverne Adams of Fulton; two sons and three daughters-in-law, Donald and Doris Savage of Medon, Jerry and Dean Savage of Pinson and Rachel Savage of Rives; 10 grandchildren, Joseph Savage of Bartlett, Patrice Davis of Carthage, Texas, Eugenia Savage and Judy Wilson, both of Medon, Don Savage of Jackson, Timothy Savage of Memphis, Elizabeth Ann Haley of Woodland Mills, Faye Sullins of Salem, Ark, Barbie Tucker of Fulton and Jane Krichten of New Oxford, Penn; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his son, Willie Joe Savage, his brother, and four sisters. Condolences may be sent to the family at the funeral home Web site: www.white-ranson.com.
