About W Baue
W Robert “Bob” Baue, aged 81, of Sparta passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. He was born on February 4, 1935 in Sparta to William E. and Mae A. (Hill) Baue. On January 8, 1966 Bob married Patricia Louise Howard in Steeleville, IL. Bob was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, worked for Huey Oil Company, was a former owner of Napa Auto Parts, worked at Ace Hardware, and in the parts department at Gilster-Mary Lee Corp. He was a member of the Lower Kaskaskia Stakeholders, Inc. (LKSI), Sparta Recycling, and the Randolph County Historical Society. Bob was a past City Commissioner and a past Mayor of Sparta, IL. He was a member of the Sparta School Vocational Advisory Committee, Sparta Fire Department, and served on the Sparta School Board for 16 years. He was raised in the Methodist Faith, and later became a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Steeleville, IL where he served on the Church Council. Bob is survived by his wife, one daughter, two sons, one brother, 11 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Margaret Wiley, and three brothers Jim, Dave and George Baue.
