Sister Virginia L. Pace, M.P.F. Member of Religious Teachers Filippini and educator at Villa Walsh Academy in Morristown Surrounded by the sisters of the community, Sr. Virginia L. Pace, 83, entered eternal life on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016, in St. Joseph Hall, Villa Walsh, Morristown, N. . Sr. Virginia will be waked Saturday, Aug. 13, from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in the Saint Lucy Chapel, Villa Walsh, Morristown, N.J. The Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Ron Sordillo of Nazareth Village, Chester, N.J. Interment will follow the liturgy at the Ave Maria Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Doyle Funeral Home, Morristown, N. J. Sr. Virginia was born and raised in Exeter, Pa. On June 11, 1950, she entered the Religious Teachers Filippini in Morristown, N.J., and received the religious habit on Sept. 2, 1951. Sister Virginia made her final religious profession on Aug. 22, 1954. She received her B.S. in secondary ed at Seton Hall University with a concentration in English and history. Sr. Virginia was a seasoned middle school teacher. She taught in the Archdioceses of Newark and Philadelphia, and the Dioceses of Trenton, Paterson and Camden, N.J. Sr. Virginia was dedicated to the teaching profession and her 30 years as an 8th grade teacher speaks for itself. Her last teaching assignment was at Villa Walsh Academy, where she taught for 17 years. During her years in retirement, Sr. Virginia volunteered her time as a telephone operator at Villa Walsh, Motherhouse of the Filippini Sisters. She was very faithful to organizing the spiritual library on its campus and was artistically gifted. She used this gift generously wherever there was a need. Sr. Virginia was predeceased by her parents, John and Adeline (Gentile) Pace; brother Rudolph Pace; and sister Rofina Johnson; She is survived by her sisters, Elaine (Thomas) Olerta, Joanne (George) Weiss, Gail (Paul) Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
