Virginia Hardy-Hall

Virginia “Jenny” Hardy-Hall, 92, formerly of Scottsburg, IN went to heaven on Monday, Jan 30, 2017 at Riverbend Memory Care in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born to Howard and Lucille (Henthorne) Roth on December 5, 1924 in Underwood, IN and graduated from Kingman Arizona High School. She was married to Roy F Hardy on Jan. 20, 1942 and they had four children. Virginia was a homemaker for many years and enjoyed raising her children and working with Roy on their family farm. She was a member, Sunday school teacher and youth group leader at Fairview Christian Church in Underwood, IN and later had membership at the First Christian Church and First Baptist Church both in Scottsburg, IN. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 107 for over 50 years. Virginia retired from Scott Memorial Hospital, where she worked for 30 years. She was also a former seamstress for the old I. Taitel & Son Shirt Factory in Scottsburg, Indiana. After Virginia retired from the hospital, she enjoyed a part time job taking blood pressures of Scott County locals at the hospital. Later in life Virginia married JB Hall, and while they only enjoyed a few years together, they loved taking trips together in their RV. Jenny loved God, reading the bible, country music, singing, dancing, cooking, crocheting, sewing, cinnamon candy and spending time with friends. She was a caring, open minded, loving woman that made a difference in every life she touched. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a son, Larry Hardy; two sons in law, Paul Rice and Rod Carter; a grandson, John Rice and a granddaughter, Julie Scribner. Virginia’s survivors include three daughters, Kay Richardson and her husband Clifton of Pendleton, IN, Janet Coats and her husband Harold and Nancy Carter all of Jeffersonville, IN; a daughter in law, Sherry Hardy of Northfield, MN; six grandchildren; Lori (James) Shaheed, Brian (Sarah) Rice, Jennifer (Tim) Borgerding, Angela (Jeff) Hands, Monica Hardy and Kellie (Nate) Clark and eleven great grandchildren; Eleni, Ean and Noah Rice, Grace and Ben Borgerding, Bailee and Alex Scriber, Kayla and Katie Hands, Nathan Rarick, and Lauren Clark
