About Virginia Green
Virginia Ann McFadden Green entered this life on January 5, 1926, and was blessed to live 98 years until January 11, 2024. She was born in St. Petersburg, FL, the daughter of the late Sohie Reese McFadden and James L. McFadden. Virginia grew up in the city of her birth and attended the public schools of the area. She later met and married the love of her life, Willie Randle Green who preceded her in death on November I 6, 2005. The couple was blessed with 10 children. Living through a difficult time when finding a good job was almost impossible, the Greens pursued a better living by relocating to Jacksonville, FL. After a year they relocated to Titusville and remained in the area for over 65 years. Virginia was a previous member of St. James AME Church serving under the leadership of Rev. Denmark. A quite unassuming woman, she was a good wife and mother providing for her children the best she could. She is remembered as having a wry sense of humor and spoke her mind in the privacy of her home. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, listening to jazz artist such as Louie Armstrong and Cab Calloway. She kept to herself, but if there was a need on Gibson Street, she was a neighbor who could be counted on. Along with her parents, siblings, and husband, Virginia was also preceded in death by a daughter, Judy. Those left to cherish and reminiscence many memories include her children: Eric C. Green, Deborah Green-Kregg, Michael Green, Vedia Green, Janice (Alphonso, Jr.) McCullough, Phyllis Parker, Reginia Green and Robert Green; 28 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; and extended family.
