About Violet Hardesty
Violet Mae Hardesty, age 79, of Ekron, KY, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY. Violet was born May 8, 1943 in Brandenburg, KY, daughter of the late Mose Russell, Sr. and Irma Ina Warren. Her loving husband, Joe Willie Hardesty; three sisters: Betty Horn, Margie Julien, and Edith Marie Russell; and brother, Paul Russell also preceded her in death. Violet was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brandenburg, KY. She was a homemaker and farmer who loved to garden and grow her flowers. Violet was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she was constantly helping others, especially providing food for families whose family member had passed away. She is survived by her five children: Linda (Terry) Trent of Brandenburg, KY, Lisa (Dennis) Crafton of Ekron, KY, Joseph Paul Hardesty of Ekron, Richelle (James) Tanner of Brandenburg, and Jerry Lee Hardesty of Ekron; five sisters, Kathy Russell of Brandenburg, Peggy Higbee of Brandenburg, Mildred Evans of Elizabethtown, KY, Irma Carter of Brandenburg, Dorothy Goodman of Elizabethtown; three brothers, Ernest Russell of Brandenburg, Guy Russell of Brandenburg, and Mose Russell, Jr. of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren: Amanda (Pete) Jones, Emily Richardson, and George Richardson; and two great-grandchildren, Caroline and Claire Jones. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM EST with burial to follow in Mt. Merino Cemetery in Irvington.
