Obituary from The Shreveport Times June 13, 2004: SHREVEPORT, LA: Funeral services for Mrs. Vera S. Pace, 86, of Shreveport will be held at 1 p.m. June 14, 2004 in Centuries Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Strickland, pastor of Summer Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Mrs. Pace was born in Gibsland, LA on September 17, 1917 to the late Albert S. and Willie Burt Tullis Johnson. She passed away June 11, 2004 in Shreveport after a lengthy illness. She was a former dental assistant, and employee of Weight-Watchers, and a member of T.O.P.S. Mrs. Pace loved her family, life, and working with the public where she acquired many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Travis Pace, and a brother, Henry Allen Johnson. Mrs. Pace is survived by her daughter, Judy Smith and husband Edsel of Lufkin, TX; her son, Billy D. Pace and wife Gail of Greenwood, LA; three grandsons, Marc Pace and wife Lori, David Pace and wife Lisa, and Wayne Smith, and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be family members.
