About Valeen Yorgesen
Valeen C. Yorgesen, 73, of Nampa passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015. She was born March 4, 1942 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Mervin and Helen (Haller) Crandall. She was raised in Idaho Falls and after high school attended Rick's College where she graduated with an associate degree in secretarial work.Valeen married Douglas L. Yorgesen on June 4, 1964 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Over the years, they lived in Pocatello, Columbus, Ohio, N. Aurora, Illinois and retired in Nampa, Idaho. She was a secretary for many places in the areas that they lived.As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she enjoyed serving in whatever capacity she was asked to serve. She loved being the "Cookie Grandma". She enjoyed sewing, cooking and mentoring the children.Valeen is survived by her husband Douglas; children: Denise (Darrell) Jensen of Twin Falls, Jeanie (Chuck) Bosen of Nampa, Marc Yorgesen of Berwyn, Illinois and Amy (Shaun) Miller of South Haven, Mississippi; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Verl Hormon; and grandson Eli L. Henderson.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, at the Nampa 37th Ward LDS Chapel, 607 W. Locust Lane, Nampa. A viewing will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, July 12 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd, Nampa (467-7300) and at the church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, at the Central Cemetery, 165 N. 3300 E. in Grant, (Idaho Falls Area), Idaho. Condolences may be expressed at zeyerfuneralchapel.com.
