V. JOANN (KAUFMAN) PINGER V. JoAnn Pinger, 78, formerly of Keithsburg, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo. Per her wishes there are no services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be at a later date. Bewley Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Aledo assisted the family with arrangements. JoAnn was born February 8, 1930 in New Boston, to John W. and Elsie L. (Baugess) Kaufman. She married William R. Pinger May 10, 1947 in Aledo. JoAnn was the bookkeeper at Pinger's Food Center, Keithsburg for 32 years. She retired in November 1992. JoAnn loved to read, work with flowers, garden and crochet. Survivors (and spouses) include her husband, William R.; son, William M. (Donna) Pinger, Keithsburg; grandchildren, William A. Pinger, Keithsburg and Sarah M. Pinger, Waukegan, IL; great grandson, William "Tucker" Pinger; brothers, James (Verlee) Kaufman, Keithsburg, and Gary (Jean) Kaufman, New Boston. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Shirley Lee and Wilma Wakeland.
