Ulysses Sherman Payne Jr. July 11, 1924 - Aug 8, 2011 Ulysses Sherman Payne Jr. passed away Monday, August 8th following his battle with congenital heart failure. He was 87. Ulysses was born in Blanchard, Oklahoma on July 11, 1924. He was a ship fitter First Class for the U.S. Navy (CB's) from 9-20-43 through 12-18-45. During his long life, Ulysses was a renowned welder all over the world. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Glenda Payne; his daughters Sharon and Wanda; his two step-daughters Vicky and Wendy; his grandson Vincent; two great-granddaughters Tristine and Audrey; one brother Art; 4 sisters: Betty, Edna, Juanita and Pauline. The funeral services will be a graveside service only, held at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2011. Contributor: Terri Rocha (50617419) •
