Therese Ann Zahn • 1929 - 2010 Therese Ann Zahn, 80, Minot, died peacefully Sunday, February 7, 2010 in her home. Therese loved life and lived it well, always with a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. She fought a long struggle with cancer in a positive and courageous manner; as she would say, "One day at a time," and "God only gives you what you can handle – trust in him." Therese Ann Henjum was born July 15, 1929 in Minot, ND. She was the daughter of Edward and Nellie (Martin) Henjum. On August 25, 1949, Therese married Dale Edward Zahn, at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot. Dale passed away October 26, 1985. She was involved in many church and community activities throughout her life. Those who shared in her life, son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Holly Zahn, Norton, OH; daughter, Denise Zahn, Minot, ND, daughters & son-in-laws, Donna and Jim Van Bramer, Federal Way, WA, and their children, Stephanie and Ean; Diane and Gary Schmitz, Coronado, CA, and their children, Emily, Brett, Audrey and Caitlyn. Sister and brother-in-law, Marge and Ward Nostdahl, Burlington, ND; sisters-in-law, Jan (Zahn) Hoffman, Corpus Christi, TX and Marion (Henjum) Decker, Bismarck, ND; brother-in-law; John Selzer, Velva, ND; and many nieces and nephews. Therese was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; parents, Edward and Nellie Henjum; brothers, Edward, Bill and John Henjum; sisters, Dorothy Behm, Verna Charlebois, Mary Anderson, Claire Newman and Pat Selzer. Funeral: Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot, ND. Immediately following the funeral service there will be a gathering in the church hall. Visitation and vigil service: Visitation Wednesday, February 10, 2010, from noon to 7:00 p.m. with the vigil prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Burial: A private burial at 4:30 pm, Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND. Memorials are preferred to the Minot Catholic Schools or Trinity Cancer Care, both in Minot. Service Participants: Father David Zimmer - Celebrant of the Liturgies Deacon Steve Mays - Vigil Prayer Service Don Kasper - Reader Stephanie and Ean Van Bramer; Emily, Brett, Audrey, and Caitlyn Schmitz - Gift Bearers Music: Processional Hymn: "Prayer of St. Francis" Offertory Hymn: "Let There Be Peace" Communion Hymn: "Ave Maria" Commendation: "Song of Farewell" "The Lord's Prayer" Recessional Hymn: "On Eagle's Wings" Kari Andersen, Vocalist/Song Leader Jeanne Artz, Organist Honorary Bearers: St. John the Apostle Confraternity Active Bearers: Jerry Behm, Buck Anderson, Lenny Behm, John Henjum, Tom Nostdahl, David Newman Immediately following the funeral mass, please join the family for a time of fellowship and refreshments in the fellowship hall. The private family graveside service will commence at 4:30 pm. Our family would like to thank all of you for your many acts of kindness. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated during this difficult time. May God bless the memory of Therese.
