About T Marler
Funeral services for Mr. T. J. Marler will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2007 in Cotile Baptist Church with Reverends Sonny Murphy, Johnny Miller, Jr., B. G. Dyess and Joey Rudisill officiating. Interment will follow in Burroughs Cemetery, Gardner under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Mr. Marler, 92, of Gardner entered eternal rest on Friday, August 17, 2007 in his residence with his family near his side. T. J. was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a great hunter, fisherman and storyteller; known to everyone as the watermelon man. He was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Marler; one daughter, Angela Marler; his parents, Nora and Jodie Marler; five brothers; three sisters and one great grandson, Christopher Barrett Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Lecy Powers Marler of Gardner; one son, Carl N. Marler and his wife, Bernice of Gardner; four daughters, LaVerne M. Branch and her husband, Buddy, Peggy M. Guillory and her husband, Hardy, Diane M. Holloway and her husband, Glen, all of Gardner and Lisa M. Pearson of Ball; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
