Stanley Craig Caskey

Stanley Craig Caskey, age 72, of Hillsdale, passed away peacefully at his home, Sunday, January 15, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 22, 1950, in Hillsdale, to Edward F. and Vonda (Foulke) Caskey. Stan graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1968 and from Michigan State University in 1972, with a bachelor's degree in packaging. He was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He began his career in the automotive industry at Wilson Auto Parts in Hillsdale. From 1977 to 2017, he worked as a purchasing agent for Auto Wares. Stan was involved in the community, serving as a member of the Hillsdale City Council from 1984 to the fall of 1991, and the Jaycees. Stan volunteered for St. Peter's Free Clinic and Kings Kupboard Food Pantry and was a former member of the Hillsdale First Presbyterian Church. Stan enjoyed being outdoors, he was often seen working in his yard. He also enjoyed playing club volleyball, bowling, racquetball, golfing, biking and kayaking. Stan was a loving husband and dedicated to his children, grandchildren, and family. He rarely ever missed an event whether he was cheering them on during soccer matches, basketball, softball and football games, track meets and marathons or present at their recitals, school events and concerts. Stan enjoyed taking the grandchildren fishing and hiking. He was always helping with projects that needed to be done and generally lending a helping hand whenever he could. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services for Stanley Caskey will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 11:00 AM at VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Rev. Scott Cress officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsdale. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
