About Shirley Abosso
Shirley Mae (Wing) Abosso, 82, formerly of Charlestown, R.I., died April 30, 2013, at Pendleton Nursing and Rehab Center in Mystic, Conn. She was born April 15, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of the late William and Mary (Sienkowski) Wing. Prior to her retirement, she worked her entire career as an office manager at various businesses in Illinois, Connecticut and Rhode Island. She enjoyed music, singing and painting. She was non-judgmental and enjoyed a vivacious life, and was well loved by many. Baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1961, she was most recently a member of the North Stonington, Conn., congregation, and she remained faithful until her death. She is survived by six children, Debra Meashintubby of Oklahoma, Dawn Lapore of Florida, Diane Welles of Rhode Island, Dane Abosso of Colorado, Del Abosso of Florida, and Danita Courtney of Maine; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Dina Wood. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in North Stonington.
