About Shirley Abbitt
Shirley A. Abbitt, age 79, passed away early Friday Morning June 4, 2021 at the Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital. A life long resident of Bloomington she was born April 8, 1942 to Leon Freeman and Mildred Farr Freeman. She was a Bloomington High School Graduate and spent her professional career with Indiana University in food services. Shirley leaves behind her daughter Terry Abbitt, son Thomas Abbitt, brother-in-law Daniel Abbitt and his wife Dawn, grand daughter Melissa Sue "Missy" Abbitt, and sister-in-laws, Madeline Morris, Linda Abbitt, and Pam Stogsdill as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved husband James "Bud" Abbitt, Jr. in 2017.
