Sherry Lee Wallgren Huebner

aka Mrs. Sherry Weiss Sherry Lee Huebner, 73, was born on March 8, 1949, and transitioned into her eternal life on December 10, 2022. Sherry was born to Arthur and Lorriaine Matthiessen and was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her younger sister, Sandy. After graduating from John Marshall High School, she attended beauty school. As a young mother Sherry enjoyed Monday shopping trips to Mayfair with her mother, her "Aunt" Elaine, and her children Lisa and Jason Weiss. Sherry was elated when they were able to purchase land in Crivitz, WI, next to her mother and father's land. Family weekend getaways quickly evolved into the desire to permanently reside in Crivitz. That land holds the house Sherry has called home for the last 44 years. On October 23, 1981 Sherry married John Wallgren, and during these years she worked as a homemaker and a beautician, styling the hair of the ladies on Parkway Road. John joked that he bought Sherry a real job when they purchased Country Inn in 1991, where Sherry cooked at night and managed the supper club during the daylight hours. Sherry and John spent free time at the resort on Big Newton, and enjoyed gatherings there with family and friends. After John's untimely passing, Sherry picked up a job at the BP on her corner to get out of her head and house, meet people, and start figuring out what life was going to look like on her own. And…she loved that it only required a half-mile drive! When an opportunity arose at NewCare of Crivitz, WI, Sherry left BP and found fulfillment working in Activities. She planned parties, prepared craft activities, and shopped for the residents until she decided to retire. Sherry leaned into retirement, finding ways to stay connected to her church and friends. She hosted her "girls" for cards on Wednesdays, and Bunko on Mondays; she reported very little card playing, as there was so much to talk about when her girls came together! She loved her "rides", which was code for Casino, with James and Jack Gaboury, and was always open for traveling with Jack and her daughter Lisa. In the Summer of 2016, Sherry's grandchildren, Lexi and Devon Weiss began to report that grandma's friend, Gene Huebner, was spending a lot of time at grandma's house. Gene and Sherry surprised family and friends with news of plans to wed in December of 2016. If you saw them together you know this to be true: they were always smiling, and made each other happy! Gene and Sherry loved to travel and were always looking forward to the next trip! Sherry was preceded in death by husbands: Gene Huebner and John Wallgren; brother and sister in law: Del & Cindy Wallgren ; step son Clinton Wallgren, her parents: Arthur and Lorriane Matthiessen; her sister Sandy Tolar daughter in law Stephanie (Mrs. Phillip) Wallgren [1965-11/9/2022]; and a host of other family members. Sherry is survived by her children: Lisa (Martin) (nee Weiss) Duxbury, Jason (Jenny) Weiss- (their children) Alexia and Devon, stepchildren: and Dena (Gregg) Richie- (children Blaine and Shannon Rybacki); Philip Wallgren- (children: Ali (Ethan) Linstad- (children Clara & Lauren), Erin (Ben) Gramm,) & Ian Wallgren, daughter in law Brenda (Mrs. Clinton) Wallgren; Clinton's children: Emily Wallgren, Olivia Wallgren & Sophia Wallgren, nephews: Jason (Dayna) Tolar, Travis (Beth) Tolar, Uncle James Gaboury; cousins JoAnne (Daniel) Nemior, Jane Gaboury, Jack Gaboury, and many more friends and extended family. A visitation will be held on Friday December16 at Grace Lutheran Church in Crivitz beginning at 12:00pm, with a service to follow at 2:00pm.
