Shelton Strother, Sr. Funeral Services for Shelton Strother, Sr. will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022, in White Oaks Memorial Chapel with Brother Greg A. Strother officiating. Committal service will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale. Visitation will be held in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel on Friday, February 4, 2022, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday, February 5, 2022, from 9 a.m. until time of service. Shelton, 67, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 26, 2022, in Alexandria. He was born April 8, 1954, in Elizabeth, La, to the union of George and Cleo (Willis) Strother. Shelton enjoyed watching Nascar and mudracing in his spare time. He was also an outdoorsman, who loved hunting season. Shelton loved all his trades, including truck driving, farming, crawfishing, driving tractors, and nursery work in Forest Hill. His father, George Strother; his wife of many years, Renae Strother; one brother, Randy Strother; one sister, Caroline "Kitty" Strother; one daughter, Sandy Strother precedes him in death. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his fiancé, Brenda Moses of Alexandria; mother, Cleo (Willis) Strother of Alexandria; four children: Melissa (Jeremiah) Guimbellot of Deville, Shelton (Renee) Strother, Jr. of Tioga, Randall (Mikayla) Strother of Deville, Patrick Strother of Pitkin; one sister, Veronica "Tiny" Franks of Echo; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends. Pallbearers to serve will be James Coody, Brandi Vanasselberg, Nathan Mixon, Carl Bradley, William Basco, and Jarret Williams. Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Hunter Vercher and Emile Gashette.
