About Scott McCashland
Mesquite, NV—Scott Jay McCashland, age 58, passed away in his sleep January 11th 2022. Jay was born August 23rd 1963 in SLC, Utah. He played football in High School and dabbled in semi pro wrestling for a year under the name Jamin Jay Murdock. Jay met his beautiful wife Colleen at a "setup" party and they were married three months later. They spent 36 amazing years together. They were absolute soul mates who complemented each other in every way. Jay started in the glass business right out of high school and cofounded his own successful glass company 20 years later. He was an incredible people leader and the hardest worker, taking significant pride in his work. He was able to enjoy a much deserved retirement and later found a perfect side-gig cutting glass a few hours a day - a complete full circle! Jay lived and loved to the very fullest and was the biggest teddy bear. He had a huge, soft heart and would help anybody at the drop of a hat. He was a perfectionist who never did anything half way. He was best known for being a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and for his love of Elton John. He is survived by his wife Colleen, children Josh (Alexis), Jamie, and Kelly (John), and grand children. His sister Diana (Bart), and nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his Mom, Dad, Gram and son Kyle. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, January 25th 2022 at Alpine Cemetery, 400 Grove Dr, Alpine, UT 84004. Published by The Salt Lake Tribune from Jan. 17 to Jan. 23, 2022.
