About Sabina Powers
Sabina Powers, age 40 of Gurnee, Illinois passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at her home, following a battle with metastatic breast cancer, with her loving family by her side. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, 604 Oak Street, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin with Father Eric Sternberg and Father Victor Feltes co-celebrating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Wisconsin Dells. Visitation will be held at Picha Funeral Home, 120 East Adams Street, Lake Delton, Wisconsin on Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. The Rosary will be recited Friday evening at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Sabina was born December 16, 1978 in Zakopane, Poland the daughter of Peter and Maria (Kieta) Frankov. She grew up in Wisconsin Dells and graduated from high school in 1997. Her further education earned her a master’s degree in biotechnology. She married James Powers in Wisconsin Dells in May of 2011. Sabina was a member of Mom’s Club International, taught CCD Classes at her church in Gurnee and was a Pines Townhome Board Member. Sabina is survived by her husband, James; son, Matthew; parents, Peter and Maria Frankov; brother, Gregory (Nicole) Frankov; sister, Katherine (Alexander Chung) Frankov; dear friend, Bernadette Simek; and nieces and nephews, Alaina, Evelyn and Emilia Frankov, Christopher Chung, and Liam, Laura, Ryan, Xavier and Celia Powers. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Zofia and Frank Kieta and Zdravka and Frank Frankov. Note: obituary prepared by Picha Funeral Home
