About S. Warner
Paul Warner,83 died at Regency Nursing Home,Escondido,Calif. He was born Oct.3,1907 in Butler County, the son of Sidney E. and Frankie Forsythe Warner. He graduated from Winfield High School in 1925 and attended the University of Kansas and Southwestern College. A resident of California for the past five years, moving from Doge City where he had lived since 1928, he had worked as a salesman, and later was division commercial manager for Kansas Power Co. from 1935 to 1945. He later was a partner in Warner Floral Co. from 1930 to 1942 and in 1945 became a partner in Kelvinator Distributorship, covering the wester 52 counties of Kansas and three in Oklahoma. He established Paul Warner Appliances in 1953 and operated it until he retired in 1968. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church,Dodge City, member of the board of First Federal Savings & Loan Association from 1968 to 1983, was vice chairman for 10 years of the Ford county republican committee, and was past president of the Dodge City Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club and the Metropolitan Planning Commission. On June 3,1945 he married Irene M. Patchen at Jetmore,KS. She died on Oct.22,1984. Survivors are three daughters, V.Jane Kerbs of Escondido,Calif, Susan L. Stone of Leawood,KS and Sally A. Lowry of Marietta,Ga; brother,Edward E. of Galena Park,Tx; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services was held at First United Methodist Church of Dodge City with Rev. Noel Stephens presiding.
