S. Louis Serotta

SARATOGA SPRINGS -- S. Louis Serotta of Crommelin Drive died unexpectedly Saturday, December 15, 2000 at his home. He was 89. Born on April 5, 1911 in Saratoga Springs he was a lifelong resident. He was the son of the late David and Sadye (Pletman) Serotta. On March 21, 1937 he married Pauline Etkin. Mr. Serotta was the proprietor of Lou's Electrical and Gift Shop on Maple Avenue in Saratoga Springs for many years. He was a member of Congregation Shaara Tfille in Saratoga Springs. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Pauline G. Serotta of Saratoga Springs; a son, Stuart Serotta of Saratoga Springs; a daughter, Bernice Gordon and her husband, Richard of Loudonville; five grandchildren, Lori Jack and her husband, Frederick of Rotterdam, Alan Gordon and his wife Lara of Guilderland, Denise Jackson and her husband, Roscoe III of Glens Falls, Michael Serotta and his wife, Heidi of Ontario, NY and Sarah Bouleris and her husband, Mark of Loudonville; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Dr. Maurice Serotta of Miami Beach, FL; a stepbrother, Mickey Schonberger of Sarasota, FL; a stepsister, Iris Shafer of North Carolina; two nieces and six nephews. Mr. Serotta was predeceased by two brothers, Harry Serotta and Max Serotta. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2000 at Congregation Shaara Tfille Jewish Community Center, 84 Weibel Ave., Saratoga Springs. Rabbi David R. Senter will officiate. Burial will follow at the Jewish Community Center Cemetery, Saratoga Springs. Shiva will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Northeastern Area, 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205- 3890.
