About S. Amnott
Winthrop - S. Elaine Amnott passed away peacefully, at home in Winthrop, on November 27, 2021, surrounded by the love and care of her family. She was born December 18, 1928, in Hodgdon, Maine to Shirley and Dorothy Estabrook. Elaine graduated from Hodgdon High School in 1947, and nursing school at NMVTI in 1972. She worked at A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1992. Elaine enjoyed sewing and created beautiful quilts. A master cribbage player, she taught her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to play. She proudly displayed her "perfect" hand on the wall at camp. Elaine enjoyed spending time with her family, both at home and at camp. Elaine was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Eugene Amnott; son-in-law, Paul Parks; infant daughter, Sharon; brothers, Mickey, Kenneth, and Teddy Estabrook; sisters, Averil Estabrook and Janice Tower. Elaine is survived by her children, Connie Parks (Yarmouth), Philip Amnott and wife, Lori (Blaine), Peter Amnott (Kenduskeag), Lori Guiggey (Greene), and Karen Pratt and partner, Ken Burgess (Winthrop); 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Butterfield and Joanne Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held locally, with internment and a celebration of life in Aroostook County in the spring.
