S. EDWIN ALLEN WESTFIELD - S. Edwin Allen, 90, died Tuesday night, Jan. 30, 2007, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born Oct. 25, 1916, in Westfield, the son of Cyrus and Mary L. (Baird) Allen. Edwin farmed, had a trucking business and owned and operated Mars Hill Implement Co., Mars Hill. He was a charter member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church, Westfield. He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Dorothy (Irving) Allen of Westfield, whom he married Feb. 6, 1937; two sons, Gary E. Allen and his wife, Linda, of Wilton, Carl H. Allen and his wife, Rita, of Westfield; a daughter, J. Gail Ruttenberg and her husband, David, of Auburn; a sister, Maddie Irving of Washburn; five grandchildren, Krayton G. Allen and his wife, Carol, Kelli Felkel and her husband, Daniel, Matthew Ruttenberg, Daniel Ruttenberg and his wife, Krissy and Sarah Ruttenberg; five great-grandchildren, Andrew, Haley, Sarah, James and Jessica, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Laurie; and two sisters, Phyllis Pelletier and Cathy Bull. Relatives and friends may call 1-2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at Duncan Funeral Home, Main Street, Mars Hill. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Palmer and Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating. Spring interment will be at Marshall Cemetery, Westfield.
