About Ronald Vachon
Ronald Vachon, known as "Joe" Vachon, age 69 of Norway, Michigan, died June 1, 2007 at Dickinson Co. Memorial Hospital, Iron Mountain, MI. He was born on July 31, 1937 in Iron Mountain, Michigan the son of the late Jeffery and Rhea (Gauthier) Vachon. Joe's family moved to Milwaukee in 1956 and he graduated from High School there. He started his working career there with the Milwaukee Road Railroad and continued with the railroad in Minnesota until his retirement from the Canadian Pacific after 42 years with the railroad. Joe was a kind and loving man with strong faith, which he practiced through active participation in the Roman Catholic Eucharistic ministry in each community that he lived in. Quiet and unassuming with a strength that lent support to friends and family; he was a pillar of strength for his loved ones and a real man of his word. Joe never sought glory or recognition but his kindness and efforts touched the lives of many. He will be greatly missed by us all. Joe Vachon was survived by his wife Charlotte Vachon; his twin brother Donald Vachon (Myra) of Waukesha, WI, brother Phillip Vachon (Barbara) of Fort Wayne, IN; sisters Rita Frehse of Detroit and Evon (Jerry) Boehnlien of West Bend, WI; brother in-law Kenneth (Darleen) Hallgren of Medford, WI; sisters in-law Constance Hallgren of Norway and Mary (Raymond) Larson of Sheboygan, WI. In addition he was survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and four very special "little urchins" Cole David, Christian Anton, Erica and Joey. He also leaves behind his lifelong friend and cohort Bill Asselin.
