Roger Steven Raboin

Roger Steven Raboin, 88, of Daggett, Mich., died peacefully in his sleep at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021. He was born Sept. 27, 1932 in Daggett, MI, to Steven and Isabelle (Guard) Raboin and residing in Daggett all his life. Roger worked for the Menominee County Road Commission for 56 years, retiring on Aug. 31, 2006, as a heavy equipment operator. Roger served in the United States Army, stationed in France, the same area his father served in World War I. He also worked with heavy equipment building roads in France. He was a life member of the American Legion. Roger was proud of his country and put up a large flag pole in his front yard. Roger liked music, especially the Johnny Cash era; he played the guitar and keyboard. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family. On Oct. 4, 1958, Roger and Joyce Macco were married at St. Bruno’s Catholic Church in Nadeau. They have three sons: Bruce, Jasen and Bart. He could weld and enjoyed working in his shop building things with metal, could fix most anything. Roger is survived by his wife, Joyce; three sons: Bruce (Kimberly) of Stephenson, Mich., Jasen (Karen) of Texas and Bart (Jennifer) of Appleton, Wis.; grandchildren: Corey, Brandon, Ryan, Tyler, Brady, Cody and Clara; and sister, Sandra (Raymond) Thoune. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters: Viola (Albert) Tickler and Janice Keener. A funeral mass will be celebrated for Roger on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, at Precious Blood Catholic Church beginning at 11 a.m., with Fr. Edward Baafi officiating.
