Roger G Brackett

HALLOWELL - Roger G. Brackett, 67, of Hallowell, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2013, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation at Gray Birch. He was born March 19, 1945, in Portland, the son of Roger and Norma (MacDermaid) Brackett. Roger graduated from Hall-Dale High School in 1963 and joined the Air National Guard. He was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas., training as a jet engine technician. He later worked at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in Connecticut. Roger married his high school sweetheart Elsie Jacobs on May 14, 1966, at Cox United Methodist Church in Hallowell. Roger and Elsie moved back to Maine where Roger worked for 20 years with C.B. Mattson. Roger was a supervisor with C.B. Mattson on the construction of residential and commercial development. He later was self-employed doing construction for various people. He built his home and also helped build family homes for his son, daughter and niece. Roger was a very talented person who did electrical, plumbing, landscaping, carpentry and computer work. His latest enjoyment was going to lawn sales with his wife on the weekends in search of treasure. He was predeceased by his parents, Roger and Norma Brackett. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elsie Jacobs Brackett of Hallowell; a son, Dana Brackett and his wife, Abby, and their twin children, Haley and Hunter of Hallowell; a daughter, Debbie Pasczy and her husband, Chris, and their children, Alexis and Lily of Farmingdale; a sister, Dawn Lathe and her husband, Butch, of Pittston; two sisters-in-law, Mona Hachey and her husband, Dick, of Gardiner, and Irene Jacobs and her husband, Ernie Hein, of Hermon; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be a spring burial in the Hallowell Cemetery. (Kennebec Journal 2/19/2013)
