From Deseret News archives: Obituary: Robert Edward Ross Published: Sunday, April 18, 1999 12:00 a.m. MDT Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Robert Edward Ross, 74, returned to our Father in Heaven April 16, 1999. Born June 14, 1925, Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles Ludwig Ross and Sarah Jane Bellamy. Married Frieda Nielson Ross on September 9, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Graduated from Granite High School, served in the U.S. Navy in World War II aboard the U.S.S. Iowa, electrical contractor 44 years, he enjoyed fishing and horseshoes and excelled in fast pitch softball and basketball.Service in the LDS Church included priesthood holder, three missions with his choice companion, Frieda, to the England Leeds Mission, Atlanta Georgia Temple and the Joseph Smith Memorial, Sharon, Vermont. He has served at the Jordan River Temple since 1982. He loved the Lord, his sweetheart, and his family, living a life of unselfish service to all. Survived by wife, Frieda Nielson Ross; three sons, Thomas E.(Linda) Ross; Charles (Sandi) Ross; David F.(Audrey) Ross; two daughters, Nancy (Vincent M.) Landvatter; Peggy (Kevin) M. Crump; 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond H. Ross; sister, Deloris and George Brinkerhoff. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 21, 1999, 1 p.m., at the Brighton Stake Center, 3001 E. Bengal Blvd. (7800 S.) Friends may call at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) Tuesday April, 20, 1999 from 6-8 p.m. and at the church the day of the service from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Interment, Mountain View Memorial Estates.
