Parents: Henry Lee Oates & Ora Villines Spouse: Burchie Belle Howton Leemon Oates Funeral services for Robert Leemon Oates, of Route 5, Princeton, the Quinn Community, were held Sunday, January 10, at 1:30 p.m. at Morgan's Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Felker officiating. Burial followed in Sugar Creek Cemetery. Mr. Oates, age 74, died Friday, January 8, at 12:54 p.m. at his home after a short illness. A native of Caldwell County, he was born June 6, 1913, a son of the late Henry Lee and Ora Villines Oates. He was a retired farmer and a member of Quinn Baptist Church. Survivors included his wife, Mrs. Burchie Belle Howton Oates; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Nina Gray, of Morgantown, and Mrs. Joanne Matthews, of Caldwell County; four grandchildren, Tamara Lea Daughtery and Michele Gray, both of Morgantown, and Kerry Wigginton and Terry Wigginton, both of Caldwell County and one great-grandson, Zachariah Daugherty, of Morgantown. Pallbearers were Rayburn Seymore, Wendell Roberts, Craig Roberts, Gary Gray, Steve Young, and A.B. Ortt. Princeton, Ky.- Times Leader 1988
