About Richard Norris
In loving memory of Richard Lee Norris, "Rick" was called home May 12, 2022, at the age of 64. Rick was born in Fairmont, West Virginia to Bernice and Charles Norris. He graduated from West Fairmont High School, received a football scholarship to Fairmont University. Rick enjoyed woodwork and made beautiful art using his gifts of imagination and patience. He married Mary McFarland on Sept. 21, 2019 after being together 22 years. Rick loved spending time with family and friends. Always talking about going to the beach. He loved to sit on the porch, watch the waves and drink coffee. Rick also coached softball. He spent many years at the softball field in Collinsville. He enjoyed coaching his daughter's teams and had a huge impact on Collinsville Softball Association. Rick was known for his incredible generosity and kindness. He would give anyone the shirt off his back or a plate of food if needed. His family will remember him as always making sure they eat 2 plates before they got a snack. He was funny, smart and a wonderful husband, father and friend. Anyone who walked in his house and dinner was done had to get a plate before they left or take a to go plate. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernice and Phillip Diamond Charles Norris and in-laws, Linda and Ray McFarland.
