About Richard Gable
Son of late Irvin H and Addie I (Shoemaker) Gable. Preceded in death by wife of 67 years Suzanne (Mermon) Gable, sister Helen (Gable) Tompkins and brother James Gable. Navy veteran serving during World War II, enlisting as Sea Bee and stationed at Naval Supply Depot in Oakland, CA. William Penn HS in Harrisburg Class of 1933, attended St Thomas College in Scranton and graduated from Central Pennsylvania Business School. After the war, he was employed by the Federal Government and spent most of his career at the former Middletown Air Depot. He retired from the former New Cumberland Army Depot in 1971. He was a member of NARFE-102 (National Association of Retired Federal Employees) of Harrisburg, and American Legion Post 594 of Middletown. Mr. Gable was a member of St. Ann Byzantine Catholic Church, Harrisburg. Neill Funeral Home, Harrisburg Hbg Patriot News 12 Aug 2012
