About Ralph Lewis
Ralph Charles Lewis (Charlie), 80, passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side on September 23, 2023. He was born on December 17, 1942 to the late Reese and Beatrice Lewis. Following his graduation from Pittsville High School, he went to work for Labe Sheet Metal in Willards, then held many other jobs later in life (Charles Clarke, Dresser Wayne, and Oil Repair Installation, just to name a few). He had been a farmer his whole life and after retirement he helped a few local farmers as a farmhand. At the early age of 18 he joined the Willards Fire Department and served 50+ years as a fireman and fire police. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Lewis; three children, Robin Gravenor (Jerry) of Whaleyville, LC Lewis (Christina) of Willards, and Rhonda Donaway (Joey) of Whaleyville; six grandchildren, Danielle Powell (CJ), Jeremy Gravenor, Mitchell Donaway, Shelby Lewis, Ainsley Lewis, Cody Donaway; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Virginia Timmons and Dot Carey. He is also survived by his dog and constant companion, Lexi. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11:00AM at Holloway Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be held in Willards Cemetery.
