About R Moates
R.E. Moates, 73, of Callaway, Fla., passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009. He was a resident of the area since 1943. He enjoyed fresh water and saltwater fishing, and spending time outdoors with family and friends. He loved dancing with his wife and playing cards with his nephews. R.E. retired as a long-haul truck driver and worked for several years as a security guard, most recently for Harris Marine. He was a member of Callaway Assembly of God and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Georgia Moates of Cal-laway; son, Michael Eugene Moates (Cindy) of Callaway; daughter, Kim Robertson (Nat) of North Carolina; sister, Delores Mincey (Jim) of Callaway; and five grandchildren, Cameron and Carly Robertson, Wayne Mincey, and Steven and Brittany Moates. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009, in the chapel of Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Dr. Garry Brackett officiating. Interment will follow at Callaway Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, March 24, 2009, at the funeral home. Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home 2403 Harrison Ave. Panama City, Fla. 32405
