About R McBride
R. W. “Mac” McBride, age 84, of Nederland, Texas passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017 in Shady Shores of Hemphill. Mac was born February 3, 1933 in Bronson, Texas to William Wesley and Laura Bea Dickerson McBride. He was a United States Army veteran having served in the Korean War where he trained troops. He was later employed as a Depot Agent with Santa Fe Railroad and a Pipeliner with Local Union 798. He was also a self-employed business man who owned and operated Mid-County Carpet Service. He had lived in Nederland since 1963. Mac was a member of Sandy Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Bronson and he enjoyed a good game of pickup basketball. He is survived by his wife, Barbara McBride, of Nederland, Texas, three sons, John Wesley McBride and wife Shanna, of The Woodlands, Texas, Randy McBride and Kelly McBride, both of Nederland, Texas, his sisters, Kathryn Byley and Dorothy McBride of Bronson, Texas, nieces, Sharon Byley and Kaye Byley-Stapp of Bronson, Allison Phillips of Iredell, Texas and Summer Smith of Austin, Texas, nephews, Benny Byley, Jr. of Bronson and Bradley Byley of Hemphill, Texas, granddaughters, Madison, Bailey, and Spencer and grandson, Brandon. Mr. McBride was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Bea McBride and nephew, Wayland West Smith. Visitation for Mr. McBride will be held from 5~8pm Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street in Hemphill, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Thursday, November 2, 2017 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow in McBride Cemetery in Bronson, Texas.
