Philip A Arduini

Philip A. Arduini, age 89, of Beaver Dams, NY passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at his home. Phil was born on May 8, 1927 in Corning, NY, the son of Felice and Vincenza (Lentricchia) Arduini. He served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1945 to 1946. He married Ruth L. Perry in 1958 at St. Mary's Church in Corning, NY. She predeceased him on January 9, 2013. Phil worked for Corning, Inc. retiring in 1984 as a forman of the trades with 39 years of service. In his free time, Phil was an avid sports fan - and loved playing golf. He also enjoyed watching old movies and had a great love for music. For 50 years, he led the Phil Arduini quartet - singing and playing the accordion and keyboard. He will be remembered for being handy around the house - a true "jack of all trades." His greatest joy came from family - always welcoming everyone in and offering his homemade Italian favorites to all. He is survived by six children: Joe Arduini of Vestal, Tom (Julie) Arduini of Poland, OH, Mike (Karen) Arduini of Painted Post, NY, Maria (Bret) Palmer of Horseheads, NY, David (Kathy) Arduini of Rochester, NY, Tony (Raquel) Arduini of Midlothian, VA; grandchildren: Mandy (Randy) Kerl, Matt (Stephanie) Arduini, Brian and Hannah Arduini, Kera (John) Stanley, Jerica (Jerry) Buman, Brent Clark, Ashley (Joe) Dickson, Devlin Arduini, Caroline Bunt, Brad and Talisa Palmer, Josh and Alex Arduini; several great grandchildren; brother, Albert Arduini and son, David Arduini of CT; and his feline companion, Ginger. In addition to his parents and wife, Ruth, Philip was predeceased by sisters: Helen Spaziani, Mary Giordano; brother, John Arduini; and half-sister, Lorena Jenkins. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday July 11, 2016 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 9:30am at St. Mary's Church, 155 State St., Corning NY. Burial with full military honors will immediately follow in the family plot at St. Mary's Cemetery, Corning.
