Peggy Geneva Shelton

Peggy Geneva Shelton, age 71, of Doran, Virginia, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022, in a Richlands, Virginia hospital. She was born in Tazewell County and was the daughter of the late Curtis Emory and Thelma Louise Rose Shortt. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of the Grace Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas MacArthur Shelton; son in law, Bobby Jamison; brother, Tony Shortt; and two great-grandchildren, Brayton Wayne Miller and Aria Mae Ward. Survivors are: Daughters: Peggy Darlene Shelton and companion, Jermaine Marshall of Richlands, Virginia Louise Pearl "Sissy" Miller and husband, Barry of Richlands, Virginia Jennifer Jamison and Michael Paul of Doran, Virginia Sons: Charlie Curt Douglas Shelton and Cindy Bostic of Richlands, Virginia Shawn Curtis Shelton and Heather Shelton of Richlands, Virginia Sisters: Wanda Lester and husband, Jr. of Richlands, Virginia Connie Cochran and husband, Danny of Paintlick, Virginia Debbie Cordle of Richlands, Virginia Martha Ball of Richlands, Virginia Brenda Whitt of Jewell Ridge, Virginia Brother: Jeff Shortt and wife, Jennifer of Rosedale, Virginia Special Friend and Sister-in-Law: Lois Davis Grandchildren of the Home: Zoey Shelton and Ethan Shelton Also, surviving are eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Peggy Geneva Shelton will be conducted Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Terry Keen officiating. Interment will follow at Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Kevin Miller, Bryan Miller, Michael Cordle, Corey Whitt, Wayne Martin, Austin Martin, and Keith Kincaid. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Paul, Brian Street, and Jermaine Marshall. Friends may call after 6:00 pm on Tuesday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
