Pearl Magdalena Laura Schrupp

Pearl Lena Laura Schrupp, age 100, of Norwood Young America, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 23, 2023, at The Haven at Peace Village in Norwood Young America. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 29, 2023, 11:00 A.M., at St. John's Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 9:30-11:00 A.M., one and a half hours prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred. Pearl was born at her parent's home May 2, 1923, in Waconia Township, Carver County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Paul and Clara (Stender) Lenz. She was brought into God's Kingdom of Grace through the waters of Holy Baptism June 3, 1923, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Norwood Young America, Minnesota with Pastor Abraham officiating. She was confirmed at St. John's on April 5, 1936, with Pastor Kramer officiating. Her confirmation verse was Genesis 15:1: Fear not, I am thy shield and thy exceeding great reward. She attended District 62 country, St. John's parochial and Central schools. After finishing school Pearl worked at New Germany Produce and the Young America grocery store. On November 6, 1946, Pearl was united in marriage to Melvin Schrupp at St. John's with Pastor Kramer officiating. They made their home on the Schrupp family farm in Camden Township, Carver County, Minnesota. After she married Melvin, she worked side-by-side with him on the farm, milking cows, tending fields, raising chickens, and caring for their family. They were blessed with three children: Charles, Duane, and Lynn. In 1981 they built a home in the country near the farm and lived there until Melvin passed away in 2002. In 2004 she moved to Peace Villa in Norwood Young America then transitioned to assisted living care at the Harbor and finally the Haven. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards (500), embroidering, and quilting. She made many beautiful quilts for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially baking cookies with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Another significant part of Pearl's life was her lifelong commitment to her church, including attending church services regularly, being an active member of the LWML for many years, helping with many projects at church, quilting with the Ladies Aid, and spending time in Bible study. Pearl was a humble, caring, and thoughtful woman who was devoted to her faith and her family who she loved deeply and especially treasured the time when the family was all together. She was hard-working, kind, and considerate of others and leaves a wonderful Christian example for her family. Pearl is survived by her Children, Charles (Debra) Schrupp, Duane (Debra) Schrupp, and Lynn (John) Lehmann; Grandchildren, Andrew Schrupp, Preston (Ann) Schrupp, Tammi (Jon) Walgrave, Holli (Dan) Pohl, Steven Schrupp, Nathan (Melissa) Schrupp, Philip (Sonia) Schrupp, Cody (Jami) Schrupp, Matthew Lehmann, and Katie Lehmann; Great-Grandchildren, Tyler, Hayden, and Luke Schrupp, Bryce and Adalyn Walgrave, Jolene, Hazel, and Chloe Pohl, Aliyah Schrupp, Saydee, Josie, and Lily Schrupp, Aiden and Ella Schrupp, and Isaac, Noah, and Liam Schrupp; Nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; her parents, Paul and Clara (Stender) Lenz; Parents-in-law, Fred and Augusta (Loehrs) Schrupp; Brother and Sister-in-law, Glenard and Mabel Lenz; Sister-in-law, Florence Schrupp; Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Florence and Rufus Beneke, Fred and Sophia Schrupp, and Milton and Evelyn Schrupp.
