About Paula Ladd

Paula Carleen Ladd, 77, of Waxahachie, Texas, joyfully ran home to the arms of her savior on February 6, 2023 She was proud to be born on the first day of spring: March 20, 1945. Her personality truly made you think of spring! Her parents were June Curtright and Archie Upchurch. Paula is survived by her precious husband of 29 years, Larry. Her beloved children: Robyn(Michael), Kyle (Shannon), Tina(Jerry), Pamela, Chad(Britny), Becky(Josh), Krystal, and Ian. Her precious grandchildren: Justin (Christina), Cody (Angela), Ashley, Chase(Hannah), Sebastian(Katie), Colton(Michaela), David (Ashley), Tanner, Ashtin(Payne), Savannah, Nicole, Travis(Janelle), Catie(Aaron), Jeffery, Justin, Nicky, Tasha, Jessica(Jesse), Wesley(Nina), Noah, Trinity, Leo, Scarlett, Jadelynn(Sky), Janessa(Damon), Jude(Leah), Adrian(Leslie), Ashton, and Akiles Great grandchildren: Anna, Alex, Arianna, Caleb, Adilynn, Aria, Everly, Camden, Liam, Kaysa, Zoey, Easton, Jace, Kirra, Kylee, Rowdy, Ryder, Rizzo, Lilly, Lyla, Aurora, Jax, Bella, Adalyn, and Ace Brother: Logan Curtright She was preceded in death by daughters Wendy and Sonya, and brothers James Upchurch and William Curtright. Paula went to Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas. She worked many jobs in her lifetime including a home healthcare nursing assistant, but her favorite jobs were wife/mom/grandmom, prayer warrior, and lover of animals. She found such happiness in loving her family and praying without ceasing for those who needed it. Everyone knew that she was the first one to call when you needed some serious prayers or support. She rejoiced every time a child, grandchild, or great grandchild accepted Christ as their savior. She would say, "They will have a mansion by me in eternity." One of her memorable sayings was when she would see something she wanted, she would say, "I wish I had that, and the owner had a better one." She always put others first. Paula should have been a Disney princess because she sure could spread joy, and she loved all things Disney. She and Larry have taken many trips to Disney with family and on their own. Have you seen some of her Disney hat pictures? They will make you laugh. Paula's dogs and horses were also her kids. She trained and showed collies all over the state of Texas. She won many championships along the way. It might surprise you to know, she truly was a horsewhisperer. Many people were shocked to see this tiny, little lady leading around a prancing stallion who was putty in her hands. She won many championships and was well respected within the horse community. She could find happiness in every situation, and was oftened referred to as Mary Poppins… practically perfect in every way!
